Axes (Ages 14+): Standard lightweight, sharp axes are the most common for traditional axe-throwing games.
Foam Axes: Safer alternatives, often used for kids or beginners.
Archery: Lightweight bows and foam-tipped arrows, creating a safe and exciting alternative for target practice.
Darts (Coming Soon): Darts can be used for a smaller-scale version of throwing challenges, ideal for precision-focused games.
Balls (Coming Soon): Foam or rubber balls offer a fun and inclusive option for younger participants or family-oriented activities.

How to Throw An Axe Safely
At Kelowna Karting, we’re excited to offer an incredible axe-throwing experience that’s both fun and safe for everyone. Here are a few tips to help you perfect your throws:
For a safe and accurate throw, start by getting into the correct stance. When throwing with two hands, line up directly in front of the target. A few adjustments might be needed depending on how the axe rotates after leaving your hands.
If you’re throwing with one hand, align your throwing arm’s shoulder with the target. Aim to release the axe at eye level for the best results.
- If the blade hits parallel to the target, your throw is at the perfect distance and strength.
- If the top of the axe hits the board, the throw is over-rotated, and stepping half a step closer can help.
- If the handle hits, the axe under-rotated, so take a half-step back.
